Who We Are
Innovar, L.L.C. is a full-service patent prosecution and technology consulting firm that handles U.S., PCT International and foreign patent preparation and prosecution. Innovar focuses on pharmaceutical and medical technologies: drugs, formulations, methods of treatment, three-dimensional printing, manufacturing processes of all types, diagnostics, medical devices, etc. We work on all types of compounds, from simple to complex organics to polymers, proteins, enzymes, natural products, synthetics, and semi-synthetics. We prosecute patents in all therapeutic areas and also handle mechanical arts related patents (machinery, large and small equipment, manufacturing processes) as well as software, method of doing business, and consumer product related patents.
We also offer a range of patent, technology consulting and training services. Our rates are 40-70% below those of larger firms. We keep our overhead low and your costs to a minimum, while at the same time providing you the best service available.
We represent clients of all sizes from throughout most of the major markets. We have helped start-ups and small corporations increase company valuations ten- to fifty-fold by providing comprehensive services that fully integrate business objectives with intellectual property assets and strategies.
Our clients' patents cover pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical products in the U.S. and abroad with worldwide markets exceeding a total of one billion dollars. We have secured over a thousand patents worldwide (U.S., Canada, Central America, South America, European Union, Asia, Eurasia and Australia) and have a prosecution success rate of over 99%. We have secured broadening reissue patents and have won numerous appeals in the U.S.P.T.O. and other patent offices abroad. We make every attempt to gain robust patents that are valuable, enforceable, difficult to design around, and directly related to a client's business objectives and commercial products.
Innovar, L.L.C. was founded by Rick Matos, Ph.D. on March 1, 2000 as a full-service patent preparation and prosecution, patent maintenance, patent portfolio management, technology consulting and training firm with the key objectives of helping clients develop and secure patent protection for relevant technologies that serve the public and of providing the absolute best service at rates well below those charged by other firms. Innovar has grown and sustained its business primarily through client referral.
Innovar has handled almost two thousand patents and applications worldwide for its clients, which have included domestic and international fortune 100, large-cap, and small-cap corporations, universities, and individuals. Innovar manages the worldwide patent portfolio for several of its clients.
Each company is unique. One-size-fits-all approaches will never help your business reach its full potential. We deliver custom solutions, tailored to you, your industry, your culture, and your one-of-a-kind challenges.
Unlike other firms, Innovar employs an integrated approach toward technology protection and creation. We review invention disclosures from the perspectives of the inventors, senior company personnel (commercialization, new product development, R&D, marketing, regulatory, safety, etc.), the patent office, consumers, and competitors. When requested, we engage key company personnel to participate in CRE-8-IVE Innovation seminars. We help clients explore and understand the full potential scope of their technologies.
Our approach results in patents that are broader and more robust than initially expected by clients, and patents that provide robust and relevant protection for commercial products and technologies.
